Expat Hoops Episode 028 with Chris Lofton

Former Kentucky Mr. Basketball and Southeastern Conference (SEC) Player of the Year and Tennessee Volunteer Chris Lofton sat down with us just before the TBT where he joined up with the University of Tennessee alumni squad, Ballinteers, to talk about his basketball career overseas.

After leaving Knoxville as a dominant college basketball player with success in the NCAA tournament, he left to go play professionally overseas for Mersin in Turkey. Although he was homesick right away, this would be the start of his decade long career that has included stops in the (then) D-League, across Europe, and Asia. Perhaps more importantly, he has persevered through adversity and been a source of comfort and hope to those facing a cancer diagnosis of their own.
